I have come very close to buying Against Love a number of times. Let me know if it's something I should read.

Hey... I recognize all of those things! (Especially that white thing on the floor.)
I am very much in favour of "Against Love" myself. It's an unabashedly and forthrightly polemic, but exceedingly smart and funny as well. She doesn't sacrifice argument to recusancy, and brings together all kinds of great cultural and philosophical history. The opening salvo about how we have all been conned into looking on love as "work" is alone worth the price of admission.
