I have come very close to buying Against Love a number of times. Let me know if it's something I should read. Is that a hair straightener, or something else?
I am very much in favour of "Against Love" myself. It's an unabashedly and forthrightly polemic, but exceedingly smart and funny as well. She doesn't sacrifice argument to recusancy, and brings together all kinds of great cultural and philosophical history. The opening salvo about how we have all been conned into looking on love as "work" is alone worth the price of admission.
I'm a sex educator, writer and librarian based in Ottawa and participating in the 2009 National Novel Writing Month. You can find out way more about me on my website.
Chuck Brown kindly gave me his permission to use the starfish from TheColoringSpot.com in my banner and promotional materials.
Thanks, Chuck! You're a peach.

Hey... I recognize all of those things! (Especially that white thing on the floor.)
