Gettin My Mojo Back
I have not been feeling my mojo lately. Yesterday, I had a particularly bad walk home.
You might remember that back in the summer I stopped blogging for a while because I'd gotten some nasty emails. In one of those emails, I was called a dumpy little pudding. I laughed it off at the time because, really, while it is shocking to be called a dumpy little pudding, it is also a very stupid thing to call someone you think is trying to shark your man.
However, it is a phrase that has been haunting me in the last week or so.
That was my dreary frame of mind when I got home, and found this, like a beam of sunshine in my mailbox:
Megan's Mojo Kit/Mojo Kit for Megan
- pins from collective(Gulp)
- 1976 penny (found heads-up on Gladstone Ave)
- Domino found on Elgin St.
- Experience card
- Light-speed Orange
- Bicycle Yellow
- Shiny binder clip
How did the lovely David Scrimshaw know that I was feeling like a DLP? Bless his heart, however he knew.
I have put an elastic around the very chic buffed metal case and now keep the kit in my every-day bag, so when that voice tells me how dumpy and ugly I am, I will always be able to wrap my hands around my mojo.

You couldn't be dumpy even if you tried.
what a fantastic idea!! I'm going to make one of these for myself. but what will go in it...?
Dumpy little pudding? Sounds delicious.
Why are you getting these e-mails from total nutters? You'd think they would at least manage to craft an insult that didn't sound like a yummy dessert. Especially since you are a. anything but dumpy and b. a sexy librarian.
Don't forget it!
(Off to buy some pudding)
To answer your rhetorical question, never in a zillion years would I have guessed that you were feeling that way.
It would be like guessing that a Ferrari is feeling like it is a blue triangle.
aw, you guys. thanks.
everyone has days or weeks like that, i figure. right? nice that i can have them and have nice people say, hold up big rig, that's silly.
and it's always nice to have a rhetorical question answered. and i *love* triangles.
suge, i see buttons in your mojo kit. for sure. little mother of pearl buttons.
That is the nicest thing ever! I have to do this for my friends when they're feeling down.
I read this a few days ago, and it keeps floating back into my mind. This has to be one of the most brilliant of David's brilliant ideas.
I love the synchronicity of the timing with your mood, too...sometimes the universe just unfolds exactly as it should.
I know! It is a brilliant idea from a man of many brilliant ideas.
Everyone should have a mojo kit, I think.
